Lynx Handler

The Lynx Handler-Semi combines a Lynx autonomous indoor vehicle (AIV) with a collaborative 4-axis robot to produce a highly versatile mobile robot designed to pick, place and move semiconductor waferpods throughout a wafer fab. It is designed to exchange wafer pods from a variety of processing equipment, stockers and storage (WIP) racks, and operates collaboratively within a fleet of Lynx vehicles.

The on-board intelligence of the vehicle eliminates the need for additional infrastructure such as tracks, reflectors or magnets. It moves nimbly within narrow aisles and operates safely alongside people. The Lynx Semi Handler improves production yield by eliminating human generated dust particles and by following instructions from the fab production software system, ensuring no errors in the physical handling of or the identification of wafer pods.

Lynx Transporter

Adept Lynx Transporter-Semi combines a Lynx autonomous indoor vehicle (AIV) with a multi waferpod carrier configured to move wafer pods throughout a semiconductor fab. It is designed to safely transport up to four wafer pods in a dynamic cleanroom environment while operating safely and collaboratively alongside people.

The on-board intelligence of the vehicle eliminates the need for additional infrastructure such as tracks, reflectors or magnets. The Lynx Semi Transporter improves production yield by eliminating humangenerated dust particles and by following instructions from the fab production software system, ensuring no errors in the location of wafer pods. It enables implementation of lean methodologies in the workflow and allows redeployment of a limited labor pool to higher value-add.

Lynx Cart Transporter

The Adept Lynx Cart Transporter is an Autonomous Intelligent Vehicle (AIV) designed to attach to movable carts and transport them from a pickup location to a drop off location. Applications include line-side inventory replenishment, moving flow racks, transporting Work in Progress (WIP) between process steps, and moving finished goods to the warehouse.

The Lynx Cart transporter leverages Natural Feature Navigation to autonomously find a path through the facility without the need for any facility modifications necessary. The Lynx Cart Transporter is safe to operate in existing doors and aisle ways as it can sense and avoid people, fork trucks and other objects in its path.

Lynx Courier

The Adept Courier is an intelligent mobile transporter that combines a high payload autonomous platform with an onboard controller and software for map generation and vehicle guidance. Material transports are initiated from a wireless call box located at operator stations and dispatched using pre-programmed destination buttons located on the vehicle.

The Courier, with its wireless communication capability and payload compartment, can be used for applications in logistics, warehouse, offices, biotech, and manufacturing facilities. The Adept Courier reduces or eliminates manual transport tasks, shortens turnaround time, and increases operational efficiency by re-applying expensive labor from moving goods to higher-value tasks.





Adept MobileEyes is a PC-based software tool to manage an entire system of mobile robot applications. The software acts as an eye for the mobile robot showcasing the actual navigation on the map with location-tracking. The user-friendly interface helps to configure and control a complete fleet of mobile robots and tools.

The software allows you to deploy and configure mobile robot applications through building routes, programming sequences, setting goals, scheduling goals, and choosing various configurations to synchronize the entire system. The software also teaches and calibrates the mobile robots for the specific applications.




Adept MobilePlanner is a PC-based software tool to plan mobile robot applications through building maps and instant floor plans. Laser-guided mobile robots can scan up to 1,000 sq.ft. per min to create maps capturing all its natural features, and send it to a PC wirelessly. The resulting map can be customized with virtual routes and forbidden lines for safe operations.

Assign tasks, goals, schedule routes, stitch maps, and program sensors, cameras & tools using the built-in route builder. The software also deploys maps wirelessly through the entire fleet of mobile robots.


Enterprise Manager

When multiple autonomous indoor vehicles operate within an area, to achieve high levels of efficiency they require a management system capable of supervising the fleet and interfacing with the operational environment and its associated infrastructure. Enterprise Manager provides the critical role of managing activities for traffic control and job allocation by communicating with existing IT systems, interfacing with I/O on internal devices and equipment, and storing navigation parameters for the entire system. 

Adept Enterprise Manager is a management system that operates on Adept‘s SmartFleetEX hardware and uses a systems-network approach for the coordination of autonomous indoor vehicles while providing traceability, job allocation, and traffic control across the entire fleet.

Localization & Position

High Accuracy Positioning System

The Lynx mobile robot excels at self-navigating throughout your facility. However, some applications require that the vehicle stops with a well-defined repeatability, especially when the vehicle payload needs to interface with conveyors, feeders or test equipment to offload or on load cargo. For these applications, the Lynx High Accuracy Positioning System (HAPS) option provides the capability to consistently move through a defined space with enhanced precision and/or precisely stop at predefined goal.

By leveraging magnetic tape affixed to the floor in front of a goal and a HAPS sensor underneath the vehicle, the Lynx mobile robot is able to smoothly transition onto the path defined by the tape. The robot can then sense markers placed along the path and align itself precisely at the defined stopping locations.

Unlike AGV’s which require magnetic tape to guide all of their motion, the Lynx mobile robot can enter and depart a magnetic tape path at any point. This unique capability enables the Lynx vehicle to transition between natural feature navigation and magnetic tape guidance. The vehicle can also drive along the path accurately in both forward and reverse when configured with a dual sensor configuration. The Lynx High Accuracy Positioning System option opens up a whole new world of precision motion for the Lynx mobile robot product family.


Dynamic Localization (Acuity)

Acuity is an additional method of “localization” for the AIV that identifies lights (or high contrast objects) in the roof and overlays the “light map” with the “floor map”. This option also allows the AIV to move easily across wide-open areas in large warehouses.

LCD Display

The Adept Lynx touchscreen is a 7 inch, high resolution display with wide viewing angle that can be added to any Lynx or custom Lynx payload. The touchscreen allows operators to interact locally with the vehicle offering a highly intuitive, simple display and vehicle control.

Call Button

This Adept Lynx accessory can be used both as a Call Button and as a Door Box. As a Call Button the unit is placed by the operator at a location where the vehicle is needed. The operator simply presses the button to request an Autonomous Intelligent Vehicle (AIV). The box has a visual display of how far the AIV is from the call box. The operator can install multiple call boxes even in a facility with just one AIV.

Automatic Door Interface

When used as Door Box, this unit acts as an interface between an automated door (user supplied) and the Lynx such that the Lynx can communicate directly with the door. This allows AIVs to move around facilities completely autonomously. One box is required for each automatic door.

Call/Door Boxes can use RF Mesh, WiFi or hard-wired ethernet to communicate with the AIV either for a single AIV installation or with the Enterprise Manager fleet control.
